Classical Homeopathy?
In 19th century, Dr. Christian Freidrich Samuel Hahnemann developed a therapeutic system of medicine called homeopathy. Here the disease is being treated with a basic principle of nature that is “Let like be cured by Like”. Classical Homeopathy is based on the principles which were started by Dr. Hahnemann in his book, The Organon of Medicine. In classical homeopathic approach, the diseased individual is treated as a whole. It is a holistic approach of treatment.
The total process has 4 stages,
First stage is: Case History : Here the prescriber or doctor should take the entire case history and take down all entire details about the diseased individual, – not only about the disease.
Second stage is: Evaluation of Symptoms: Once the case history is done then all the symptoms are being evaluated as per as the grading or importance. This process is called Evaluation of Symptoms.
Third Stage is: Repertorization: Repertorization is an application (mostly done through different softwares) where first the symptoms are being converted into different “Rubrics”. Rubrics are basically the language of Repertory. And then we select the medications.
Fourth Stage is: Selection of Remedy: Repertory would suggest us few medicines suitable for the patient. Then the Prescriber would consult with Materia Medica and the proper suitable medication would be selected.
We seldom use the common term that in Homeopathy, we can cure the disease from the root. If we follow these steps, then only we can get to the crux of the diseased individual and the Constitutional Medicine would be selected. Prescribing this Single medicine with minimum dose would definitely cure the condition. This is called Classical Homeopathic Prescription.
